Joe-Pye Weed Blooming July 28 2016

Seems counterintuitive, doesn't it, that a plant name with the word "weed" in it would be a good thing to have in your garden, right?

Yet, Joe-Pye weed (Eupatorium spp.) is a verified (documented) great nectaring plant for at least 10 different butterfly species in Tennessee! Not only is this plant useful, it is beautiful as well. Check it out at your local native plant nursery and remember to ask about neonicitinoid-free plants.
